On September 4, 2018, the Sarnia Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Investigation Unit entered into an investigation regarding a 31 year old male residing in the 200 block of Euphemia Street, in the City of Sarnia, for being in possession of child pornography.
From information gathered via the investigation a warrant was obtained on September 12, 2018 to search the suspect’s residence for evidence related to the crime. The Sarnia Police Service Electronic Crimes Branch was able to determine that the accused was in possession of a device that contained suspected child pornography. The accused was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and held for a bail hearing.
From information gathered at this time there appears to be no local victims but the investigation is continuing.
