On May 21, 2018, at approximately 2:15 am, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Jackson Road and Airport Road.
Officers arrived to find that a 22 year old male driver was able to exit the vehicle and attend a residence in the area to call 911.
The driver did sustain some minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
It is believed that the driver lost control of his vehicle as he made a turn off Airport Road onto Jackson Road, striking the guard rail and entering the water way just to the east of Airport Road.
The driver was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle and the vehicle was finally removed from the water on May 22, 2018.
