Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit entered into an investigation regarding an individual that was trafficking various drugs in the City of Sarnia.
Vice Unit officers were conducting surveillance on the suspect and observed a drug transaction take place at approximately 12:50 pm on May 1, 2018. The suspect was subsequently arrested and searched and the following drugs were located upon the accused:
- 8 – 18mg Hydromorphone pills
- 5 – 50mg Morphine pills
- 11 – Nabilone capsules (a synthetic cannabinoid and can be used to decrease pain or nausea).
- $90 in Canadian Currency
Vice officers requested and were granted a warrant for an address in the 1700 block of London Line where the suspect resided.
The warrant was executed and further drugs were located within the unit:
- 17 – Tech Codeine tablets
- 56 – Hydromorphone capsules
- 2.57 grams of crack cocaine
- 10 – morphine tablets
The total street value of drugs seized was approximately $2835.00.
The 49 year old male suspect was held for a bail hearing later today and is facing five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
