Weekend Calls Involve Two Being Charged With Over 80

On April 6, 2018, at approximately 4:00 pm, a local business, on London Line, contacted the Sarnia Police Service advising that an individual attended their store and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The suspect vehicle had left the area but was located at Cathcart Boulevard and Modeland Road by police. The officer observed the suspect vehicle straddling the lane dividing line. The officer activated the emergency lights to the cruiser but the vehicle in question continued to travel westbound on Cathcart until the officer blasted his sirens.

The suspect vehicle finally came to a stop without any further incident. A demand was made to the driver to supply a sample of breath into a road side screening device and after a number of attempts the suspect’s sample indicated a fail. At 4:40 pm the 47 year old man, from Sarnia, was arrested for having over 80mg of alcohol per 100 mls of blood. He was transported to the Sarnia Police Station where further testing was continued with the Intoxilyzer by a qualified Breath Technician. Readings taken indicated that the accused was over twice the legal limit.

47 year old, Scott Douglas MacDonald, of Sarnia was charged with having over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood.

On April 8, 2018, at approximately 2:00 pm, the Sarnia Police Service was dispatched to Leopold Drive in the City of Sarnia regarding a disturbance that was taking place. It was determined, upon speaking to the complainants that a 64 year old man had returned to his residence and when he was parking his vehicle in his driveway he reversed into another vehicle, also in the driveway, three times.

From information received by witnesses and grounds formed by the police, the suspect was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was subsequently transported to the Sarnia Police Station where a qualified breath technician took suitable samples of the suspect’s breath with the use of the Intoxilyzer Instrument. Readings indicated that the accused had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

64 year old, Darcy Conroy Wheat, was charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, having over 80mgs of alcohol per 100mls of blood, and mischief to property.
