On December 6, 2017, at approximately 4:40 pm, two males entered the Wellington Pharmacy wearing balaclavas and one of the suspects carried a machete.
During the robbery a quantity of medication was stolen and the suspects fled on foot. Fortunately no one was injured during the robbery.
The Sarnia Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Branch was able to identify the two suspects and both have since been arrested and remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The first suspect in custody is Nicholas Cottrelle, 38 years of age, of London. Cottrelle was arrested in London on December 21, 2017. He has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The second suspect in custody is Jonathan Joseph, 33 years of age, of Sarnia. Joseph was arrested in Sarnia on December 22, 2017. He has also been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
