Since October 4, 2017, up until October 15, 2017, the Sarnia Police Service has responded to 8 calls of thefts from motor vehicles from either Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation located on Blackwell Side Road or the Suncor Trail located on Modeland Road north of Highway 402.
In seven of the cases the vehicles were left parked in the parking lots with doors locked. When the owners returned to their vehicles they found a window smashed out. One of the eight cars was left unlocked. In all eight cases a purse or back pack was taken from the vehicles.
The Sarnia Police Service would like to assure the public that the matter is being looked into.
We are also asking for your assistance by reminding everyone not to leave valuables out in the open and if you see anyone acting suspicious in the area to contact police.
