On March 13, 2017, at approximately 1:00pm the Sarnia Police Service responded to a single vehicle collision on Lakeshore Road between LeCaron Street and Egmond Drive in the City of Sarnia. It appears that the vehicle was travelling westbound around the curve when it lost control and rolled over onto the north side of Lakeshore Road.
The vehicle struck a gas line causing it to leak and requiring Union Gas to attend and shut the line off. The driver was taken to hospital with what was believed to be minor injuries.
The road was closed for a short period of time and has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
