The Sarnia Police Service is continuing their investigation into an early morning single motor vehicle collision which occurred in the area of Exmouth St and Barclay Dr. The surrounding area near that intersection will be closed for an extended period of time while crews from Bluewater Power work to restore power as well as traffic control signals in that area. Police are asking motorists to continue to avoid the area and to use an alternative route to get to their destination.
Through the preliminary investigation, it was learned that the driver of the motor vehicle had fled on foot, prior to police arrival. The Sarnia Police Service Emergency Response Team, with assistance from the Chatham-Kent Police Service K-9 unit, searched the area for the unknown driver, with negative results.
