The Sarnia Police Service has just recently completed their investigation into property that was recovered.
On January 10, 2017, members of the Sarnia Police Service, Criminal Investigation Branch were handed over a number of old pharmaceutical prescription pads. The prescription pads had been left behind in a cab by a female fare.
It was determined that the pads were stolen from 220 Mitton Street North, the former hospital site. The investigation was also able to determine that the accused was a Laura Dennis, 30 years of age, of no fixed address. Dennis was arrested on January 17, 2016 and charged with the following:
Two counts of breach of Probation,
Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime,
One count of failing to comply with Recognizance,
One count of break and enter.
Dennis is currently in custody and awaiting a bail hearing.
Police had contacted Bluewater Hospital staff regarding the stolen property and made them fully aware. Bluewater Hospital administration assisted officers in the investigation.
