On October 27, 2016, members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Division along with members of the Vice Unit and COPPS Unit executed a Search Warrant in the 200 block of Russell Street South in the City of Sarnia. During the warrant numerous power tools, bicycles and lap tops were recovered.
A Tyler Rankin, 28 years of age, has been arrested and charged with break and enter, breach of undertaking, possession of a controlled substance, three counts of property obtained by crime under $5000, one count of property obtained by crime over $5000 and theft of a motor vehicle under $5000. A warrant has been requested for the arrest of Melissa Thomas, 37 years of age, for two counts of breach of probation, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of property obtained by crime over $5000 and two counts of property obtained by crime under $5000.
Some items have been returned to their rightful owners but a number of items have not.
