Sarnia Police Service received reports of suspicious activity in the Rosedale Avenue and Indian Road areas on April 27.  On the 27th, just after 3 AM, police attended the 900 block of Rosedale Avenue when a man saw someone trying to enter his garage.  The homeowner has a sensor in his yard and this sensor was activated, waking the man.  He looked and observed an unknown male, described as being very thin and about 5’ 10” to 6” tall, wearing dark clothing.   He yelled and the male ran westbound on Rosedale.  Police checked the area and could not locate anyone.  A car in the driveway appears to have been entered but nothing was taken.

Later on that morning, just before 8 AM, police attend Harrogate Drive to take a report that two bicycles had been taken from the garage at a home sometime during the night.  The garage door was unlocked at the time of the theft.

Around noontime the same day, police received a phone call from a man living in the 800 block of Rosedale Avenue indicating two cars in his drive had been gone through.  Items were strewn about but it does not appear that anything was taken.

Please lock your car doors and do not leave valuables in plain view.  Also, lock doors to exterior buildings.  Motion and noise sensors may deter the would- be thief or trespasser.
