Collision at Confederation and Mitton

This morning at approximately 9:20 am members of the Sarnia Police Service Traffic Unit and General Patrol Division, along with Sarnia Fire and Lambton Paramedics, responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Mitton Street and Confederation Street in the City of Sarnia.

According to information gathered a pick-up travelling east bound on Confederation Street ran a red light at the intersection striking a mini-van which was travelling north bound on Mitton Street forcing it off the road and onto the sidewalk. Another vehicle that was stopped and facing west bound on Confederation Street was side swiped by the pick-up truck. The intersection was closed for several hours while officers investigated.

The driver of the van and the stationary vehicle that was facing west were transported to hospital for observation with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck was charged for failing to stop for a red light.
