On April 13, 2016 the Sarnia Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Investigation Unit entered in an investigation regarding suspected child pornography being shared by a Sarnia resident via the internet.
As part of a province wide Provincial Strategy Takedown, a warrant was executed on April 26, 2016 at a residence in Sarnia where a computer was seized as evidence. On May 13, 2016 a 20 year old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography. He now awaits his first court appearance.
Sarnia Police ICE Unit is a partner of Ontario’s Provincial Strategy to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
