Ongoing concerns from the public regarding the abandoned Bluewater Health Hospital site with individuals breaking into the building and causing mischief and committing theft, have prompted members of the Sarnia Police Service COPPS Unit to concentrate their efforts in that area. Over the last several weeks members of the COPPs Unit have increased their patrols and surveillance of the site.
Since January 20, 2016 up until the early morning hours of March 6, 2016, five individuals have been arrested in relation to the old hospital site. Charges range from Break & Enter, Possession of Break & Enter Instruments, Theft Under $5000.00 (theft of metal) and Breaches of Probation. These incidents have occurred at various times of day ranging from the early morning hours to late afternoon.
The public is advised to contact the Sarnia COPPS Unit at 519 -344-8861 and relay any helpful information that may assist in ongoing incidents at the site.
