On February 1, 2016 at approximately 5:50 pm the Sarnia Police Service were contacted regarding a vehicle in the area of Talfourd Street, east of Indian Road in the City of Sarnia which had lost control. The vehicle had struck the curb and entered into a local park then turned around and returned to the road in the area of Elsfield Crescent. The vehicle struck another curb and by this time had 2 flat tires.
Once the Sarnia Police arrived and began their investigation the driver of the involved motor vehicle was taken into custody at approximately 6:20 pm and transported to the Sarnia Police Station where a qualified Breath Technician administered the Intoxilyzer. It was determined the male was over twice the legal limit.
The accused, Ryan Haggan, 19 years of age, faces a charge of driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood and was released on a Promise to Appear from the Sarnia Police Station once sober.
