On January 4th, 2016 the Sarnia Police began an investigation into a suspected robbery reported by a 34 year male from Corunna.
Originally the information received was that he was “mugged” in the downtown core area of Sarnia and his wallet was taken. Secondary to an in depth investigation by the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch it was determined that the information received was false.
On January 8th, 2016 the 34 year old man was charged with the offence of Public Mischief for reporting this false information to the Police. He is now to attend court on February 9th, 2016 at 9:30 am for his first appearance.
