The Sarnia Police Service has laid criminal charges in connection to the October 25, 2014 fire and explosion at Veolia Environmental Services on Scott Road that left one employee dead and five injured.
After a lengthy investigation, involving the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch and the Ministry of Labour, one individual and the company, Veolia Environmental Services, face one count of criminal negligence causing death and five counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
The Division Manager of the North America Corporation, Anthony Lavoratore, age 44 years, is the individual charged and he will appear in court along with Veolia Environmental Services on January 12, 2016.
