The Sarnia Police Service is looking for help to identify a man who tried to steal a vehicle from a local hotel.
Police are releasing surveillance video recorded on November 17, 2015 that shows the suspect as he wanders through the hotel located on Christina Street. The suspect eventually finds a set of car keys in an office and just after 10:00 a.m. the suspect can be seen walking along the front driveway towards a blue Dodge Journey . The suspect enters the vehicle with the keys he had taken and attempts to drive away. The owner of the vehicle was alerted that his vehicle was being moved and was able to confront the suspect before he left the property. The male suspect then walked away southbound on Christina Street still in possession of the keys.
The suspect is described as being 20 to 25 years, slim, clean shaven with light brown or dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a dark blue or black button up shirt, dark winter jacket and baggy jeans. He is also carrying a backpack with a distinctive crosshatch pattern.
