The Sarnia Police Service has arrested a 17 year old male for assaulting a woman early this morning.
Just after 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 18, 2015 a 25 year old woman was walking home to her residence on Kathleen Avenue. A short distance from her residence she was grabbed from behind by the accused and they fell to the ground. The woman was speaking to her husband on her cellphone at the time and when he heard her yell, he ran to assist her. The accused was chased by the husband who was unable to capture the individual. Sarnia Police attended and located the accused in the area and arrested him just before 4:00 a.m.
The accused is a young person and cannot be identified. The youth is being held for a bail hearing and faces charges of assault and breaching his recognizance of bail.
