A message from the Chief of Police, Phil Nelson
The community representatives from the County, Health Unit, Ontario College of Pharmacists, the Sarnia Police, and OPP signed a declaration supporting and putting into place the Fentanyl Exchange program. This initiative is the end result of many meetings, political involvement from the City and County and the will of those involved to initiate a program designed to save persons from overdosing or dying.
All of this started with Detective Constable Mike Howell’s concerns related to the abuse of prescription drugs, namely fentanyl. On behalf of the Police Board, members of the Service and the community I thank Mike for his drive and determination to do something about the fentanyl problem. A job well done.
