Further Investigation to Pursuit Recovers Stolen Property

On Friday August 28, 2015 just before 3:30 p.m. members of the Sarnia Police C.O.P.P.S Unit noticed a white GMC pickup truck on Mitton Street with improper plates. The truck had two different plates belonging to two different people displayed. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the male driver would not pull over. The pursuit continued in the area of Talfourd, Vidal and Campbell Streets before heading south on Indian Road. The truck was followed until it reached Lasalle Line before being called off in the interest of public safety.

Secondary to locating property in the pickup and conducting a further investigation, members of the Sarnia Police Service COPPS Unit were able to determine that property was stolen from a location in Lambton County and thus the accused in this matter was also charged with possession of stolen property under $5000 along with the original charges of dangerous driving, evading police and breaching his probation.
